ALUMNI
Alumni of the performance programs at the University of Florida (MFA in Acting, BFA in Acting, and BFA in Musical Theatre) have enjoyed significant success on stage and screen. Among them is George E. Salazar, currently in Godspell at Circle in the Square on Broadway. Felipe Barbosa Bombonato is in the national tour of Cats. Usman Ally’s credits include The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity at Second Stage, while Alex Hernandez recently played “The Mace” in Chad Deity at Actors Theatre of Louisville. J. Salome Martinez starred in the HBO mini-series, Generation Kill. Susan Louise O’Connor played Edith in Blithe Spirit opposite Angela Lansbury (Theatre World Award). Jonathan D. Lovitz is in the cast of LOGO’s Set-Up Squad. Shekitra Starke appeared in Mary Poppins. Jason Gillman appeared in Legally Blonde, while Allyson Tolbert toured with The Producers. These (along with many others steadily working across the country on stage, in television, film and commercials) follow in the footsteps of some of the school’s most notable alumni: Stephen Root (No Country for Old Men, Office Space and NewsRadio) Malcolm Gets (Caroline in the City) and Academy Award-winning Faye Dunaway (Bonnie & Clyde, Chinatown and Network).
