LINDA WILSON LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT FOR EXCELLENCE IN THEATRE AWARD
Directly following the Actor Showcase, the UF School of Theatre and Dance will present the 2008 Linda Wilson Lifetime Achievement Award for Excellence in Theatre to Estelle Parsons. Ms. Parson’s illustrious career includes an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of Blanche Barrow in Bonnie and Clyde (1967) and a nomination for Rachel, Rachel (1968), as well as Tony Award nominations for her work in The Seven Descents of Myrtle (1968), And Miss Reardon Drinks a Little (1971), Miss Margarida's Way (1978) and Morning’s at Seven (2002). The Linda Wilson Award was created by UF alumni George and Linda Wilson in 1998 to establish an endowment so that preeminent theatre artists could be recognized for their lifetime of work, to provide the opportunity for honored artists to share their wisdom and expertise for the benefit of UF students and to provide scholarships for students in the School of Theatre and Dance. Past recipients have been Zoe Caldwell and Chita Rivera.
